Genovese Roof
The installation of the "triple covering in Genovese slates" is carried out by bonding with lime and cement mortar, also interposed between the slates, whether they rest on a slope made of wooden planks or on a reinforced earth slope. Starting, like for other types of roofs, from the lowest batten, i.e., from the "eaves", with dimensions different from the other slates, they are arranged in such a way that each one overlaps by two-thirds to the slate of the underlying register. Proceeding in this manner results in a covering where the same slates have a triple overlap with each other. It is also possible to fix the slates with galvanized nails.
