FRENCH HOOK ROOF
The French-style roof is usually characterized by its square shape and the "diamond" arrangement of the slates. This design requires nailing during installation. However, there is a variant of the "French" slate, with the bottom side horizontal, which allows installation with the hook system. Starting, like for other types of roofs, from the lowest batten, i.e., from the "eaves", with dimensions different from the other slates, they are arranged in such a way that each one overlaps by 1/2 to the slate of the underlying register. Proceeding in this manner results in a covering where the same slates have a double overlap with each other.
