CLASSIC FRENCH ROOF
The French-style roof is characterized by the square shape of the slates arranged in a "diamond" pattern. Sometimes the shape of the batten is modified to hexagonal, while the final design of the roof remains unchanged. The installation of the double-type roof can be done with galvanized nails. Starting, like for other types of roofs, from the lowest batten, i.e., from the "eaves", with dimensions different from the other slates, they are arranged in such a way that each one overlaps by 1/2 to the slate of the underlying register. Proceeding in this manner results in a covering where the same slates have a double overlap with each other.
